24h dot-com

Since 7 last night Central European time, artist-wiz Eric Wahlforss & co. have been building a dot-com from scrath as a “performance art/business project” at the Wizards of Oz conference in Berlin. The service is Dozomo, a web search engine aggregator. You can buy 1% of the stock for €10 using PayPal, and exactly 24hours from start time the company will be sold on eBay. As I write this there’s only 35 minutes left so potential VCs better hurry :)

Fridayspecial

F R I D A Y S P E C I A L (on Saturday): The prudish Russian are considering a ban on kissing in public. After all, kissing can be bad for you. The intrepid Norwegians, however, don’t care. Do you, boys and girls?

Unable to find somebody in

Unable to find somebody in the confines of space? Have you, gentlemen, attempted reaching out to somebody in the expanse of the Web? A note of caution from Aunt Aula: watch out for Indians. Of course, you may know, world-weary readers, that in some parts of India, being hirsute is a benchmark of beauty: “The more hair, the more beautiful. No eyebrow plucking here because the mark of femininity is heavy eyebrows.” Yowzah! But then each culture prizes different aspects of femininity or masculinity for that matter. Recently, however, some poor bastard got himself involved in a scam: an “American was bowled over when an Indian lady he had met over the internet sent him some photos of herself. He liked the pictures so much he invited her to visit him in the US—but the lady said she did not have enough money.” Being rather forlorn, desperate, he wired over $1,500. And that, gentlemen, was that.

Life of Ming: Here is

Life of Ming: Here is the latest report on the origins of Ming, the 400-pound Bengal tiger that was raised from cub-hood in a Harlem apartment by Antoine Yates, aka ‘Tiger Man.’ Yates was arrested after sustaining tiger bites which he claims he got while trying to save Shadow, a kitten, from the hungry, possibly depressed, Ming. Personally, I think Tiger Man is pretty cool.

Unless you have been in

Unless you have been in coma yourself, you may have noticed, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, that Aula has not been registering much of a pulse for some time. But behind the scenes, this cheery orange facade, (the two bananas that represent our genesis perhaps), there have been coups, crises of management, affairs with interns; there has been yelling, screaming, tears of joy, tears of laughter; there has been pestilence, pillaging, cats and dogs living together, mass hysteria. But like Lazarus come back from the dead, we like blurbs appear before you. We’re not better-than-ever, not even under-new-management but just back, kind-of-like before. To mark this epic event, we’re going back to the fruit, you know, the fruit to the root, the mangosteen in particular, the only fruit that may have caused us to disobeyed God’s command. (Imagine, an apple, an apple, the Kingdom for an apple!) The “…mangosteen [is] a tropical fruit about the size of a tangerine, whose leathery maroon shell surrounds moist, fragrant, snow-white segments of ambrosial flesh.” Rest assured, dear, fruity readers, that we’re on the ball and running with it.
